Things You Should Know About BDSM

Hey there, Cheeky Talkers! Welcome back to a new blog post on a much requested topic that is BDSM. So, let’s get started with today’s article, shall we?

BDSM has always been a misunderstood domain for several decades now. That’s why I thought maybe this is something I should throw some light on. For instance, many people are not aware about the right platforms that specifically deal with bdsm hookup and provide knowledge about the same.

Below is the list of some of the basic things that you need to know about the BDSM lifestyle, which are:

  • Many people find it very hard to believe that not every BDSM relationship requires a dominatrix and a submissive. That’s true people, this is not a set requirement to pursue a relation in the BDSM relation.
  • Thanks to the power of social media people are now able to discover the true meaning of BDSM and how this kind of relationship actually works in real-life. Because the thing is its not exactly how it is being portrayed in the novels and movies, of course!
  • Building BDSM contacts is not as easy as it sounds, you need to make sure that you are making use of the right website in order to connect with like-minded people. That’s why my suggestion would be to do your proper research before making a final decision.
  • According to a recent survey that was conducted by Smithsonian magazine, it was revealed that more than 30 percent people in United States use some sort of a BDSM themed tool in bed. And other survey showed that about 60 percent of university students are into bondage activities.
  • Last but not least, I also want to break another stigma related to the BDSM lifestyle which is that it is related to mental health. This is one of the most popular myth that you are likely to come across while getting started with your BDSM journey. As per data collected over the years, no connection has been found between mental illness and the BDSM lifestyle.

There are many books out there that claims that BDSM is a practice that is only done by people who have faced a major trauma in their lives. But again, that’s not true. You do not need to have a traumatic past or a haunting childhood memory to get involved with the concept of BDSM.

This is a lifestyle that anyone can indulge into it and yes, many studies have shown that BDSM does help people to deal with their traumatic experiences but that does not mean that it is a mandatory requirement. And in case, you still have some doubts or questions related to it, just let me know and I will try to do a follow up article while answering these questions. Until then, I recommend you to keep an eye on the next few blog posts as I might have a surprise for you *wink*.

Thank you so much for reading everyone!!!
