Bond of Sibling Love – Raksha Bandhan

I am a proud Indian and today is a very special festival and I want to enlighten you folks, about this day that’s motive is to build trust between siblings and protect one another in all circumstances.

RAKSHA BANDHAN is a Hindu festival to celebrate and reaffirm the bond of affection between brothers and sisters. On this auspicious occasion the sisters tie vibrant colourful threads (kinda bracelets) known as Rakhi on their brothers wrist who in return swears to protect their sister at all cost and stand by their side no matter what.

This ritual has been performed by our Ancestors since many centuries and this tradition is still celebrated with same respect and prosperity. Although, few details are evolved with time i.e. families that have just daughters, then younger sister tie Rakhi to older sister and exchange presents.

So yeah, this covers the basic concept of the Sibling festival. In my case, I’m the older sister and these damn FINE purple beauties from Reebok. (cool kicks, no ?)

P.S. – This blog is my attempt to spread cultural awareness and if you like it Thank you so much for your support and wishing you a very happy Raksha Bandhan πŸ™‚
